Lannemezan enjoys a sumptuous natural setting and a breathtaking view of the Pyrenean peaks. The Pôle d'Équilibre Territorial et Rural (PETR) of the Pays des Portes de Gascogne was born in 2001 out of an administrative need to control the development of the east of the Gers.
