THÉÂTRE DU GRAND ROND

Theater
4/5
2 reviews

The theater of the Grand-Rond is a small theater with a beautiful popularity in Toulouse. It has to be said that its programming is as dynamic as it is sympathetic, like the team at its head. Just steps from the metro station François-Verdier, visit this small street to attend one of the two shows of the evening. For the originality of this theater is to propose an aperitif from 6:30 p. m., which opens sometimes to music, theater, mime or tales… The show can then start under the best auspices at 9 p. m. The theater receives regional companies but also broadcasts performances from anywhere else, for a selection always of quality. A very beautiful scene that all the smart guys must know!

THÉÂTRE GARONNE

Theater
3.5/5
2 reviews

Created in 1988, the Théâtre Garonne devotes its activity to contemporary arts, be it theatre, dance or music. It is housed in a former river water pumping station, made up of four fairground brick buildings, where the workshops and a 255-seat auditorium have been installed. Entirely renovated, it has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Garonne and a bar where you can sip a drink while waiting for the stage. The programme is international and helps to make an offbeat contemporary theatre more accessible, sometimes considered to be hermetic. Thanks to its many partnerships, this theatre is a beacon of artistic and cultural life.

THÉÂTRE DE LA CITÉ

Theater
2/5

In the heart of the pink city, the Théâtre de la Cité is Toulouse's national drama centre. This imposing building of bricks, glass and stone, built in the footsteps of the former Toulouse Conservatory, echoes loud and clear the voices of poets and playwrights. Since 2018, under the direction of director Galin Stoev, has been launching a programme for the widest possible audience. This is a long way from elitist theatre. A place of life and sharing opens up. Similarly, space is given to creation and co-production, to artists' residencies. The theatre is oriented towards the repertoire of tomorrow, poetry, circus and puppet arts, music or dance.

LE PETIT THÉÂTRE DE LA GARE

Theater

In 22 years, the old hangars of the railway station have experienced many of the passionate people who have committed themselves to a goal: offer a true cultural location in the valley, open to all audiences and brought by quality programming. A good bet and this Little Theatre has a lot of… charm plus because it has a radiant soul! Throughout the year, different shows are offered, contemporary and eclectic, they bring to the honor theatre creations, of course, but also tales, musical evenings, various events, you will have understood, everything that is part of live shows. An amateur troupe is attached in residence, the Tétralyre, and provides excellent services, both summer and winter. The associations also have a place of expression and for the last four years, at the end of June-early July, a festival of amateur theatre meetings can discover irresistible talents. Carried out by Véronique Strub, the very dynamic president, these troops are doing well to morale and we advise you to enter the station quickly so as not to miss the train that invariably leads to a super evening!

THÉÂTRE SORANO

Theater

When this theatre was created in 1964, its mission was to host the Centre Dramatique National du Sud-Ouest. Quickly taken over by the Toulouse City Hall, it has known many adventures for several decades. Since 2016, the management has been in the hands of Sébastien Bournac, director of the Tabula Rasa company. Its programming is intended to be multidisciplinary, combining the great classics of the repertoire revisited and contemporary writings. In parallel, the Sorano supports the projects of artists in residence and associated companies. On stage, theatre of course, but also dance, singing or even circus. Great moments of emotion in perspective!

A new structure made available to companies and artists by the Tarbaise municipality that wants to offer a cultural policy accessible to everyone. By working closely with local cultural associations, in order to support their creations, Irap proposes diversified programming: theatre, dance, music.
