The theater of the Grand-Rond is a small theater with a beautiful popularity in Toulouse. It has to be said that its programming is as dynamic as it is sympathetic, like the team at its head. Just steps from the metro station François-Verdier, visit this small street to attend one of the two shows of the evening. Created in 1988, the Théâtre Garonne devotes its activity to contemporary arts, be it theatre, dance or music. It is housed in a former river water pumping station, made up of four fairground brick buildings, where the workshops and a 255-seat auditorium have been installed. Entirely renovated, it has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Garonne and a bar where you can sip a drink while waiting for the stage. The programme is international and helps to make an offbeat contemporary theatre more accessible, sometimes considered to be hermetic. Thanks to its many partnerships, this theatre is a beacon of artistic and cultural life.

In the heart of the pink city, the Théâtre de la Cité is Toulouse's national drama centre. This imposing building of bricks, glass and stone, built in the footsteps of the former Toulouse Conservatory, echoes loud and clear the voices of poets and playwrights. Since 2018, under the direction of director Galin Stoev, has been launching a programme for the widest possible audience. This is a long way from elitist theatre. When this theatre was created in 1964, its mission was to host the Centre Dramatique National du Sud-Ouest. Quickly taken over by the Toulouse City Hall, it has known many adventures for several decades. Since 2016, the management has been in the hands of Sébastien Bournac, director of the Tabula Rasa company.
