The house of Savignac dates back to the second half of the 18th century. The ancestors of the family were master cutlers and made capuchin knives, traditional, simple knives that were widely used at the time. Nowadays, the capucin has evolved and has become an exclusive model, called the "Ariège". All the production is local. The handles can be made of ivory or deer antlers or stabilized mammoth bone.
