The welcome is adorable, and the pastries delicious: everything is cooked on the spot, from organic ingredients. As for drinks, the choice is hard between the thirty or so Mariage Frères teas and infusions, smoothies and bubble tea, or the very tasty hot chocolate, the house specialty.

As you enter, you'll find yourself immersed in the world of Irish bars. The dining room, tea room and terrace overlooking the riverside garden below are all in a row. For comfort? Chairs and poufs on the grass, and high tables under the sheltered pergola. Outside, you'll find a bowling alley and a stage for concerts, DJs, theater and stand-up comedy. Connemara is arguably one of the most emblematic bars in the city, with its typical décor and friendly atmosphere. Irish Pub par excellence, it was the place to meet fans during the euro 2016! In this new bar located on the Cours d'Alsace Lorraine, the cocktails change from the ordinary and are really worth the trip. Every evening, enjoy the Happy Hour, enjoying a few pints of blonde at 3 euros or Jägermeister's shooters at 4 euros. Attractive prices in a very good atmosphere. The Sputnik also has a dance floor because techno evenings are regularly organized, starting at 9:30 pm (admission is free). A clubbing atmosphere guaranteed!

The adjective that doesn't fit this tapas bar and restaurant is static. The terrace has been enlarged to accommodate all fans of Iberian cuisine, including the famous pintxos (from 3 euros). Here, the produce is fresh and the cooking "home-made". Alex and Vivian also concoct the famous plato combinado with lomo or chipirons, fried egg, piperade, potatoes, salad and sheep's cheese. At lunchtime on weekdays, the full lunch menu costs 16.90 euros. Entertainment is also provided.

It is easy to find, because next to the town hall, and very recognisable by its doors with etched windows and its green including trefoil... Was the bike hanging from the ceiling served to Lisdoonvarna, whose management is indicated on a sign on the post is set right in the middle of the room? Located on the site of the former Jean-Marcel Despagne stadium, this complex includes 4 projection rooms with tiers that offer, regardless of their size, the same sound quality, excellent screen visibility, rows of 1.20 m and large, very comfortable seats. The largest room is dedicated to live performances about fifteen days a year with opera broadcasts. The rest of the time, it is used for film screenings. The programming is of high quality all year round: films for the general public, auteur films, films for young audiences...

Fabrice Brignard, the master of the place, has the art of the party and it shows. This place is a bit the place to be... But be careful, nothing trendy or snobbish! We are here on Boulevard de la Plage and the large terrace with its wooden furniture is always full, especially in summer. The reason: the excellent rum-based cocktails, including a mojito to die for, and everything to eat with tapas, oysters, charcuterie or cheese boards, bruschettas, the chef's burgers or gourmet coffees. All served on a musical background of the 80s and 90s.

At the Cave des Darons, we drink and eat. Yannick took over this old cellar, which had already been in existence for 25 years. We particularly like the patio (which can be privatized) where you can enjoy the terrace. The wine bar is open from Tuesday to Saturday until 9pm in July and August, otherwise from Thursday to Saturday. Wine tasting is often accompanied by a platter of local produce. Run by Philippe Berbizier, well known in the world of rugby for having played for Lourdes and Agen, the Bar de l'Oubli is a café for friends, but not only. Those who love conviviality, good humor, tapas (evenings in summer) and bistro-style dishes (lunchtime and evenings in winter) all come together here. The daily special costs 18 euros. As a result, l'Oubli has become one of Arcachon's least forgotten spots, frequented by a diverse clientele ranging from locals to trendy Parisians of all ages. It's the place to be from breakfast to aperitif.

After the Pâtisserie de Famille in the heart of the Ha (a) ïtza hotel, the Téchoueyres family has opened a new patisserie, designed by Philippe Starck. La Pâtisserie de Ma Fille boasts a pleasant terrace on the Place des Marquises in Arcachon's summer town. Here, you can enjoy an excellent hot chocolate. And what about the pastries prepared by Antony Prunet! Each one is more appetizing than the last: gourmet, but not too sweet.

A distinction must be made between the beach bar and the restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner (reservations required) and features a short menu based on seasonal produce. From 9am to 1am, without reservation, the beach bar offers a wide choice of pizzas (prepared on site), seafood, a farandole of land and sea tapas: octopus à la galicienne, cod acras, terrine du vendangeur, BAO of pulled pork... And let's not forget the veggie recipes (falafels, honey-roasted camembert, truffle-roasted camembert...) and desserts. The view over the basin is superb. Enjoy it with a drink in hand.

Le Pré Salé is a tapas bar with a "colorful and recuperative" terrace that invites you to sip a cocktail or a cold drink. You can also come for breakfast, a main course or a lunchtime menu, and an afternoon snack of waffles and iced coffee, for example. We decided to go at the end of the day. We would have gone for tapas, but... we weren't offered. Too bad, because the mixed "plank" looked rather nice. Afterwards, we headed off to watch the sunset over the pool at the end of the street.

With its terrace, the Coyote is the HQ for local bikers! But don't let your prejudices get the better of you, because in this bar, it doesn't matter who you are. Whether or not you're a fan of two-wheelers, flocked leather jackets or multiple tattoos, you'll always be made to feel welcome in this rustic venue where the music is loud. There are no longer any concerts or sports broadcasts, but the atmosphere remains excellent and so do the beers, even if they are (as always, and like everything else) to be consumed in moderation.
