This string of colored houses of Victorian architecture unfolds in front of the Malecón. They stand out a bit from the surrounding architecture and seem to have been built to allow photographers to bring back a nice picture of Samana... Nevertheless, there are a few restaurants and commercial premises in the area, alternating with empty shops. A tourist office (the Clúster Turístico de Samaná) has been created there and provides information to tourists arriving by boat (and sometimes in large numbers!).

Fritzner Cedon, a Haitian artist who has lived in Santo Domingo for many years, opened this small space in the heart of the colonial zone to promote the paintings of his Haitian and Dominican friends. Here, the painting is of good quality and the works presented are diversified. In addition to the paintings, there are traditional Haitian sculptures in painted sheet metal. It is in the basement of a small shopping mall that Patrick, a Frenchman, is installed. The Dominican stones (larimar and amber) inspire him to create beautiful rings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces... Patrick also makes beautiful reproductions of Spanish silver and gold coins, mounted in medals, bracelets, earrings or rings. The workshop being in the shop, you will be able to see the creator at work.

This gallery, run by the widow of the painter who died in March 2011, exhibits his works, paintings and silkscreens.
