History: A history of a family of four generations, that of the Tissages Moutet, a company created in 1913 by Jean-Baptiste Moutet, manufacturer of "pants ticking" for clothing, and of the famous "mantis à boeuf" clothes, which traditionally covered the horse's dog at work in order to protect them from insects.

In 1919, son Georges transformed the loom into mechanical weaving and mantis to beef became table linen. In 1967, it was Jacques Moutet who gave a new boost to the company by building an ultra-modern factory that would produce Jacquard. During the crisis of the 1990 s, the company moves towards the artistic creation of designers applied to high-end weaving, boosting its activity in the high-end decoration distribution circuit.

Maison Izard draws its identity from the Pyrenees and the wool of the region's sublime sheep. This wool requires special attention because of its rustic appearance. Many manufacturers refuse to work it for greater efficiency. However, Maison Izard has opted for this product, which requires patience and technique, in order to enhance the value of local wool. This fiber of character is sorted, spun in the Tarn and knitted in local workshops by enthusiasts. But don't be fooled by the brand's old-fashioned products: it's dusting off the image of wool with modern, sustainable garments.

The Vieille valley is housed in an old, medieval mill in the valley of the Nauze. It is managed by the Association Over the course of the time created in 1997 and has become an indispensable economic entity. During the guided tour, the spinning is discovered through demonstrations, workshops for all and interactive exhibitions. A pure natural wool is proposed in its original colour and, in association with artists and artisans, a shop allows to discover and buy on site articles of wool and mohair, pottery, leather, gourmands… it supplies even wool for ecological yurts. The outside of the mill with its reach and creek have been enriched by a vast educational pond where you can discover all the biodiversity of the wetlands.

Behind the window of the Esku Lanak retail haberdashery, "le travail des mains", is a sewing and alteration workshop that offers sewing classes for beginners and above. Above all, it is a place of sharing and conviviality, where Myriam and her brigade initiate you and advise you on the different methods. Each "apprentice" sewer has a sewing machine and can design pieces, as well as make alterations on new and old clothes.
