MÉDIATHÈQUE LA TURBINE

Media library
4/5
1 review

Located on two floors of a building combining concrete and glass, this media library offers clear and clear spaces. More than 50,000 documents (books, magazines, BD, CD, DVD, partitions) are lent or can be consulted on site. For science and technology farus, a space is dedicated to it with almost 7,000 documents. But the media also offers other services: home loan, handy document boxes, lockers and Internet access to subscribers. We also love the dynamism of the team with animations, exhibitions and meetings organized throughout the year for children, young people and adults. And proof of this dynamism: on-site consultation of the electronic book. A warm and smiling welcome to grow and relax.

SYNDICAT D’INITIATIVE

Cultural association

The small village of Saint-Cirgues-en-Montagne houses one of the smallest colleges in France, which strengthens its traditional position as a crossroads of this part of the Ardéchoise Mountain. The fairs were once famous. Like many villages, Saint-Cirgues originates from a castle in ruins, the castle of Des, visible from the The road. Then, as the saying says, «a city is a castle that prospered», the village developed along the river. It must be said that Saint-Cirgues was then located in the extension of the main road at the time: that which comes from Montpezat by the Pal coast. This lost importance during the creation of the road from Mayres in the th century, Saint-Cirgues nearly recovered it via the train: the Roux motor tunnel is the vestige of this project of a Aubenas rail link - Le Puy via Saint-Cirgues. The church of Saint-Cirgues-en-Montagne built around 1050 is a beautiful Romanesque church that you can visit. In particular, it has one of the most magnificent peigne towers of the religious architecture of the ardéchois plateau.

VELAY EXPRESS HISTORIC RAILWAY

Cultural association

Who said there were no trains in Ardèche? In line with the famous Mastrou, an association revived the Railcar-Lignon tourist Line, resulting from the Réseau railway network which formerly linked the Rhone to the Loire, crossing the Velllave plateau. Closed in 1968, 2 sections were spared, including the Voies line in Saint Center. This tourist line is now at the rhythm of the trains of yesteryear through a superb landscape - the Lignon Gorges - until the altitude 1 040 meters in Saint-Center. A journey to be done in a time when you forget to take its time, breathe clean air and admire the know-how of the old.

A warm welcome by a passionate and exciting hostess, visibly love of Woodstock and his region. It doubles from a guide guide for the visit of the Provençal Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions, located in the same building as the union of Initiatives, a splendid th century house whose staircase is a marvel of its kind.

With the simple view of a map, we quickly understand why the man was very early in Woodstock. Ideally located on the axis rhone at a strategic location on the tracks of human migration from the Mediterranean basin to the north, the Woodstock site, and especially the cliffs dug by the river, will set the first populations in natural caves in 2 500 B.C. but it is the Romans, great conquerors and road builders, who will establish the first dwellings in the region, located in the region. Woodstock a place of interesting passage to defend. In the Middle Ages, a castle is built whose remains still dominate the city. A city that will develop in the Renaissance, leaving beautiful traces with homes whose rehabilitation today gives the heart of the city. In this coal-fortified zone in the Rhône region, agriculture is booming, from breeding to vine growing, which still continues today thanks to four wine-growers attached to their land. The first intersection occurred in the th century with industrialization and two achievements that will change the face of the village. First, the Tap Suspension Bridge, built by the Seguin brothers from 1847 to 1845. A bridge that has suffered over the centuries from the flood of the river, the mistral that blows in this parade as nowhere else in the Rhône Valley, and later by the bombings of the Second World War. A bridge famous by the upheavals he has crossed and the incredible landscape he reveals to passers-by. The other is the Chocolate chocolate factory built at the end of the th century. A unique factory created by the monks of Aiguebelle too much in their monastery to manufacture a renowned chocolate. A factory that will operate for almost a century - 1895-1977 - before it hosts a bold industrial project in the st century. To visit the Ruelles alleys, stroll along the Rhône River and stop on the holiday road, Volterra enjoys a beautiful stop reserved for the camper at the entrance to the city. Do not miss if you chose this holiday mode.

OFFICE DE TOURISME CŒUR DU DOUX

Cultural association

Désaignes's origin is "Disania", meaning Diane, Roman goddess of hunting. Moreover, a Roman temple bore the name of the goddess. And according to'd'Anglas, who made a thorough study on the subject, this temple would have been dedicated to the Roman Hercules which was distinguished by its strength. Another story of mythology, a hamlet of the name of Hermet might recall a place of worship at the Greek Hermès, God of commerce… What would join the fact that, since prehistoric times, man has passed to Désaignes on a road of merchants and mule. In addition to a Romanesque church, Désaignes also houses some medieval remains: the man's door - th century - and the feudal castle that survived the temple of his neighbour Diane. The rectangular wall wall is almost intact and one can still see fenêtres windows, a tower with a spiral staircase… The organ of the Protestant temple, magnificent and strange building with a dedication to Louis XVIII, weighs three to four tons and represents a volume of about 40 square meters. Its history is linked to that of the temple that took fire in 1962 and was rebuilt in 1965. Many Genevois Genevois and French organists came to Désaignes to make this organ famous for concerts. It should be noted that Désaignes has been engaged in the renovation of its heritage for 25 years and that the village should soon be rewarded by the award of the «Village of Character» label. A dynamic village that has conquered the heart of the Smart and deserves more than just a stop.

It remains the movement-reflection of the capitalist window and has, technically and aesthetically, never finished.

CERAMIC HOUSE

House of culture

The Maison de la Céramique is one of the most instructive and exciting places to visit in the Drôme des Collines region. A veritable center of activity where past and future meet to present visitors with all the facets of ceramic materials. Ceramic was the first material to be modified by human hands to create useful objects. While the first potters of 6,500 years ago surely had no idea that such a center could be dedicated to their art, today's curious visitors can't fail to wander through an interactive space where they can discover all the often little-known ways in which our earth can be put to good use. Organized around thematic islands, the "La terre dans tous ses états" (Earth in all its states) exhibition presents all the traditional facets - crockery with the famous "bleus" from Saint-Uze, pottery... - and modern applications - in medicine, communication, aeronautics... - of this age-old art. Don't hesitate to ask about the dates of courses organized by the Maison de la Céramique to get your hands dirty. Temporary exhibitions throughout the year: ask for details.
