This exhibition area of the Saint Martin district, housed in the former rehabilitated barracks, welcomes from 8 May to 31 October 2017 the collective exhibition Pop art, see more…, fruit of collaboration between the Château des Adhémar and the Saint Martin museum, presents the major figures of Pop art, popular current born in the 50 s in the United States and England. At their side are exhibited works by contemporary artists, heirs of this emblematic movement of art history. Embodied by the famous American Andy Warhol, designed to make art accessible to the greatest number by dealing with topical subjects, Pop art has marked the decline of conceptual or minimalist art. It remains the movement-reflection of the capitalist window and has, technically and aesthetically, never finished.
