The Black Woods Mountain Mountain Bike Area and the Black Woods Mountain Club organize every year, every last Sunday in June, the Bois Noir Oxygen whose starting point travels within Space over the years. It is a hike that breaks into several circuits with a raid of about 75 km and several courses for all levels, different from year to year, 15, 25 and 35 km.

This summer, the Tour de France passes through Praz de Lys Sommand and Taninges! It is on July 15th that the brave cyclists will face the famous Col de la Ramaz, in an idyllic setting for the spectators and sporting for the competitors. On July 16th, the Tour will pass through the village of Taninges. For this occasion, two animated evenings will take place. Vélocio has been around for over 100 years. Several routes are on offer, ranging from 30 to 95 km. On the program: on closed roads, a 12 km climb in modo chrono or a hike uphill. The program attracts around a hundred cycling enthusiasts, who set off on the slope of the famous Col de la République, at the summit of which stands a monument to the memory of Paul de Vivie (1853-1930), a leading figure in French cycle touring nicknamed... Vélocio. This event is open to all - some participants are over 80 years old! Come as you are, trained or not, retro or not, on a bike, a unicycle or an electric bike - the only thing that counts is good humor. So saddle up!

Let us begin the presentation of this path by a historical digression. The Huguenots were, of the time of religious wars, the Protestant Protestants then in conflict with the Catholics. Following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685, nearly 300 000 Huguenots were forced to leave the country. The forest of Saoû, which was the cradle of local Protestantism, became a haven of importance for those who did not "désertèrent". Back to the time of the Romans and the Templar… You are here in Clansayes, and before you take your walk, we invite you to join the dungeon, Saint Vincent Church, and the strange three-niches room, right next door. Over the periods, the latter had different roles: It was first a sanctuary and became a boardroom. Enjoy the time you need from the panorama, and it's gone for about two hours! In the direction of the south, make a hook by Notre-Dame-de-Toronne chapel. Old hats of the Templar, she deserves ample attention. Located in the heart of the Brasses massif, the Plaine-Joux plateau is ideally located for cross-country skiing. At 1 250 metres above sea level, you are facing the mythical Mont Blanc and develop within a calm and wild nature, on quality snow. Green, blue, red or black; a total of five tracks are offered, groomed in classic or alternating from 1,5 to 15 km, from very easy (green) to black (black). This gives you the opportunity to make progress at your own pace, while taking the time to enjoy the surrounding landscape!

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is one of the most famous ski resorts in Haute-Savoie. If the alpine downhill at high altitude is not for you, the station also offers an alternative with a Nordic ski area of about kilometres of slopes. Houches, Chamonix, Argentière, Vallorcine, splendid and attractive sites for beginners or those who are more confirmed. In Chamonix: 3 tracks in three levels of difficulty, 20 km within a few minutes of the city centre. And if you prefer the pleasure of walking, please note that two pedestrian routes are at your disposal for an outing in snowshoes!

Sport is all year round: whether it is raining, selling or snowing! If in summer the mountains of Haute-Savoie lend themselves particularly well to hiking, the winter is the best ski. Welcome to the Upper Giffre valley, where we offer you a cross-country ski exit! Between 690 and 1 770 metres of altitude, the tracks of Horseshoe, Joux-Plane or the valley offer you great possibilities for riding. In total, these are 17 green, blue and red itineraries, marked and traced in classical style or skating. The best way to attract budding skiers as well as the most experienced skiers!

Sylvie Becaert, gold medallist in sprint at the 2003 World Championships, and Roddy Darragon, gold medallist at the 2006 Olympic Games, are certainly the two largest cross-country ski champions that the Grand-Bornand has known. From December to April, while Dame Nature takes you on its white carpet, the northern area of the station takes you to its 70 kilometres of cross-country skiing. The asphalt road linking the Col de Porte and the Charmanson mountain pasture is covered in snow in winter. It is then closed to motorists and becomes a playground for winter sports enthusiasts. A great place for cross-country skiing or ski touring, you can reach the first houses on the alpage in 50 minutes. The return journey is effortless: downhill only. If you've chosen to do this itinerary on snowshoes, the walk continues up to the summit of Charmanson, with a further 1-hour ascent.

In the town of Montarcher and La Chapelle-en-Lafaye, an orientation course invites you to test your resourcefulness. Free access and permanent, you just have to have a compass and buy the route map (€ 1) at the Saint Bonnet-le-Château Tourist Office or at the Info Point of Usson-en-Forez. You will find tags during your progression on the 7 km of the course. According to your level, four different channels of difficulty are available (green, blue, red and black). At your compasses!

Located on the northern area of Haut-drilling, the Lodge Pass is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The station offers 78 kilometres of marked cross-country ski slopes and four routes in snowshoes between 1 253 and 1 428 metres. Two of the routes in snowshoes are in the form of loops: " Le Bois de Migois " (4 km) and" Le Payanet " (6,5 km). The other two are in return: " La Pirouse " (4 km) and" Le " (11 km). The Piste trail also meets the loop of the Col de la Loge, a trail in 17 km long snowshoes that leaves the Ridges of Forez Nord.

At the start of the ski resort of Chalmazel, three routes of snowshoe walkers go into the snow. The easiest thing is the Squirrel circuit, a 3 km loop to travel in 1 h 30. The Fox circuit is in two Separable parts of one hour each. The first half of 2,9 km along the Lift lift. So you can do it on the rise and drop down in a lift or inversement to do just the descent. Six kilometres from the Village, Domaine de Burdignes offers 20 kilometres of marked Nordic ski trails and maintained throughout the winter. The four routes of difficulty start at the Maison de la Nature de La Faye. The green trail is 3 km long, the blue 5 km, the red 7 km and finally the black 8 km. These circuits are relatively short and can easily be combined. The area also offers discovery routes accessible in snowshoes, ranging from 3,4 km to 8,4 kilometres.

The slopes of the northern borders of the Confins in La Clusaz have grown and advanced the athlete Vincent Vittoz, a sacred Nordic world champion in Oberstdorf in 2005. The area has 14 marked tracks at various levels of difficulty, allowing everyone to take pleasure without sweating blood and water. You are here in the Monts Mountains, about kilometres west of Lyon. This virtual Lane is accessible only by bicycle, and for cause: it is evolving on RD 600, a small, very small departmental road, which is prohibited for motor vehicles - except for neighbours. Dotted with 10 cycle tourism loops, this greenway invites you to discover the Beaujolais vineyards and forests, thanks to a network of surrounding cycle routes. Like every year, magic happens at the Ultra Tour des 4 Massifs, more commonly known as Ut4M. The ^12th edition of this exceptional race links the 4 massifs surrounding Grenoble-Alpes Métropole: Vercors, Taillefer, Belledonne and Chartreuse. 12 races for all levels, with the flagship Ut4M 160 Xtrem taking in all the peaks (with extended opening hours for greater accessibility). If you're not yet a great trailer, but want to join in the adventure, sign up for the 20 km versions on the massif of your choice, especially the Chartreuse, which has the special feature of being run at night.

The town of Virignin decided to celebrate the summer sportingly! The Sainté Trail Urbain is a way to discover Saint-Étienne in a different way. Different activities are available: for example, routes of about 10 to 30 kilometres, a gourmet walk, an open-air walk or a Nordic walk. Canal Round returns on August 5 th! On Sunday, 30 August, the municipality of Saint-André-de-Corcy will host the sports event on the Pas de Tanguy, a 10 km drive and without difficulty with passage and étang. The perfect test, in sum, to put himself or herself into a gentle leg at this end of vacation! Built in 1830 to facilitate the transport of goods, the canal from Roanne to Digoin is now dedicated to tourism. In summer, its waters are filled with barges and pleasure boats, while its shores are filled with cyclists and walkers. From Roanne, you can go north as long as you like by following the canal towpath. Here are some examples of easy routes: count 40 minutes to reach Mably and 1h30 to reach Pouilly-sur-Charlieu. Enough to enjoy a pleasant family walk.

On April 1, the commune of Contrevoz will bring together amateur and passionate runners around a 11 km, popular and friendly nature race. If you live in the area, this is a great opportunity to rediscover your environment! The route, which is largely on non-asphalted roads, gives you a 230-meter positive gradient. not the sea to drink, but the athletes a trained strand will feel more comfortable than the real beginners. They may rather opt for hiking, unless their age allows them to participate in youth races…

After the Strides de la Frat the Bourgoin-Jaillieu, the Sportifs-Jaillieu brings sports events on 1 April 2018. In the programme, of course, the long-awaited test of the 10 km, but also three races dedicated to the youngest, 5 km, 2 km and 800 m. The courses, dishes, evolve in the streets of the city and present no major difficulties. A good opportunity to wear the trainers, and perhaps to find a jogging route that you can then repeat!
