Intimate, cosy, trendy and located at the foot of the hotel of the same name, this little bar will delight lovers of good wine and craft beer. The concept: if a customer has the slightest hesitation - or curiosity - when placing an order, the barman makes it his mission to find the beverage that will suit him perfectly, as if it had been designed for him. To do so, he'll ask the customer to choose an adjective; his or her answer will determine the drink he or she will be offered. Carefully selected music plays in the background. Special mention for the delicious orange wine.

Opened in 1924, this is Long Beach's oldest bar, as well as one of its most popular. Regulars come for the wide selection of beers and the famous pickled eggs served on a small mound of pretzels with chili peppers. Other menu favorites include Joe's Special, a delicious hot dog with Swiss cheese - and made with a sausage prepared with the house spices - and Marmion's Peanuts, freshly roasted peanuts, one of the establishment's signatures. This pleasant wine bar in the center of Sonoma is run by the Nedhill family, who farm 700 hectares of land and started making wine almost 10 years ago. It's a small, responsible, organic production, but with watering because "everyone does it here because of the drought". Pinot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Zinfandel are grown here, without any manipulation of the wine. We particularly recommend pinot grigia, pinot noir carneros, pickberry red blond and 5th hill. Prices are affordable.

Perched on the ^21st floor of the Beacon Grand Hotel, ex-Sir Francis Drake's new Art Deco showcase, the Starlite is a glass eagle's nest with a dizzying panoramic view of Union Square. The iconic Starlite, born in 1928, deserved such a successful revival. Velvet armchairs, marble tables, subdued lighting - the retro decor in jade green and beige is sumptuous. The musical atmosphere is distilled every evening with vinyl DJ sets. On the menu, fine cocktails by mixologist Scott Baird and tapas concocted by Michelin-starred chef Johnny Spero.

In the 1990s, the Up and Down Club was best known for its jazz and acid rock. Now, the Raven, with its decor of antique mirrors and leather banquettes, boasts three bars and offers an eclectic evening's music, with a "feel good" and slightly nostalgic leitmotiv. The club has a very large dance floor and offers many shows with drag queens and gogo dancers. It is also possible to have a snack at small prices. Compared to other clubs in the city, the price of the drinks and the entrance fee is not at all excessive.

Inside the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the Chandelier is an elegant lounge bar with oversized chandeliers - as the name suggests - and three floors. Located 60 miles from the atomic test site, the explosions could be seen from the roof of the building. The interior boasts a wealth of memorabilia from the era, and was also a popular spot for celebrities during the golden age of Las Vegas, including the Rat Pack, Barbara Streisand and Clint Eastwood. It remains a favorite of locals and tourists alike.

The Commonwealth at El Cortez is one of Downtown's most popular saloon-style bars. Even if the menu doesn't include as many drinks as other establishments in the area, this place lives to the rhythm of the music, with the regular presence of DJs. Commonwealth also has its own speakeasy (a kind of speakeasy dating back to Prohibition). Called the Laundry Room, it's well hidden and you'll have to look for the entrance to get there.

The Strip's new omnisports venue, owned by AEG and MGM Resorts International, opened in April 2016 between the New York-New York and Monte Carlo. With a maximum capacity of 20,000, it is the largest omnisports venue in Las Vegas. Concerts, boxing, field hockey, basketball and rodeo are among the events scheduled.
