REDBONES BBQ

World cuisine restaurant
5/5
1 review

In Somerville, here's a nice restaurant, where conviviality and family atmosphere are the order of the day - paper tablecloths set the tone. The specialty of the house is barbecue ribs. The room is always full, and with good reason: the meat pieces are excellent and perfectly cooked. The side dishes (you choose one or two with your meat) are very good: fries, beans, mashed potatoes... As an anecdote, Redbones is proud to have been the first restaurant in the country to offer a valet parking service for bicycles!

POLLY'S PANCAKE PARLOR

This former wood shed was converted into a tea room in 1938. The owners, maple syrup producers, had the idea of opening a restaurant area to promote their products. Since then, Polly and Will's daughter has taken over and expanded the establishment. From pancake batter to maple syrup to jam, everything is homemade... and everything is delicious. Needless to say, it's a very popular place for breakfast. This very nice address is located in Sugar Hill, less than 5 minutes drive from Franconia.

Located in the Mill Falls Hotel, on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, the Lakehouse Grill offers a wide range of seafood dishes, including haddock with lobster and sherry sauce, and the must-try lobster roll. It's an opportunity to sample New England specialties in a classic, family-friendly atmosphere. The menu also features a wide choice of meats and excellent grilled meats: rib-eye steak with mashed potatoes, roast chicken with quinoa, burger, etc. Prices are reasonable (with a lighter lunch menu) and portions well served.

This is the Wolfeboro Inn's restaurant and, like the inn that houses it, it's one of the town's institutions. The atmosphere here is warm and rustic - the deer heads hanging on the walls add to the authenticity of the place. The menu features simple, hearty dishes, pizzas, sandwiches, burgers and salads. All in all, a typically American place, which doesn't leave an unforgettable impression as far as the food is concerned, but where the service is friendly and diligent. Queen City Cupcakes is the perfect place for a rich and sweet snack. The cupcakes in this little shop run by locals come in every imaginable flavour, including maple syrup and bacon! Each day brings its own surprising flavours: Tuesday it's Guinness, Wednesday it's coconut, and so on. Don't get too big for your stomach: cupcakes may be cute, but one is more than enough to fill a small (or even a big) hollow. Original and tasty.

This charming café is the ideal place to stop for brunch or lunch. Housed in a handsome brick building, it's right in the heart of Portsmouth's historic Market Square. You'll find good salads, sandwiches and delicious popovers. The European pastries, perhaps a little less refined than in France, make passers-by salivate, and the café is worthy of an Italian one. Located in the Camden Harbor Inn, Natalie's is the most prestigious restaurant on the Maine coast, and arguably one of the most expensive. The dining room has a boudoir feel with its red velvet banquettes and chairs and fringed lampshades. The service is of a great house, with some original ideas. The large hall decorated with plastic flowers and pieces of cloth from Thailand seems to delight the locals, who come here as a family. Others prefer the formula to take and warm home. Once is not customary in Maine, here you are offered to eat meat! It must be said that the north of the state is gradually moving away from the sophistication of New England and we find here a deep America, finally closer to Tennessee than to Boston.
