LE RELAIS DU PAYSAN
Hostel decor, wooden tables, nice setting and superb view of the valley from the terrace. You can enjoy typical Périgord dishes, made from fresh and high-quality products: duck breasts, pan-fried foie gras, confit, roasted veal with chanterelles, but also omelettes with porcini mushrooms. For dessert, you can fall for homemade strawberry or walnut ice creams, walnut cake or old-style waffle. In addition, you can shop in the adjoining shop La Halle paysanne and take away local canned food, wines or aperitifs of peach, walnut, chestnut wines, but there are also apple or kiwi juices. Anecdotally, the owner Etienne Cluzel is a culinary restaurateur but also a lover of the old stones he restores. It was him who bought the castle of Paluel, in Saint-Vincent-de-Paluel, where the film Le Tatoué with Jean Gabin and Louis de Funès was shot in 1968.
