The Kerlévenan castle is a perfect example of neo-classical architecture. Between Saint-Armel and Sarzeau, on the road to Vannes, wedged in its green setting, this harmonious building was built between 1780 and 1802 by Joseph Armand de Gouvello, then by his son. Now, the castle still remains the private property of the family of Gouvello. You will enjoy the freestone on its walls and the slates of its roof that come from Angers. The castle often hosted a distinguished guest, the English painter Turner, family friend. The gardens, the chapel and the Chinese pavilion are open to the public during a visit that also offers a beautiful view over the gulf.
