Concert halls Lorient

The Rennes-based Cinéville group is the fifth largest cinema operator in France, with five million spectators per year, and has more than ten multiplex cinemas in the Grand Ouest region. In Lorient, in the town centre, you have 11 air-conditioned cinemas with giant screens. Note that you can buy your tickets online on the establishment's website and that there are subscriptions (CinéPréférence card and CinéLiberté card) allowing you to benefit from a reduced rate.

It has opened its doors since 9 April 2003, 60 years after the destruction of the old theatre. The site accommodates up to 950 people. Led by Josette Joubier, here are the outlines of his artistic project: proposing multidisciplinary programming with a place of choice for dance; make available artistic teams, time and space to promote the phases of work and creation (thanks to the rehearsal studio) and raise awareness among the public at the shows, especially the young public. Meetings with schools, universities and associations are organized. The Grand Theatre aims to host all forms of theatre, music, dance, opera, and to open up to the programming of new, local or international companies. The CDDB (Centre Dramatique de Bretagne) is a place of creation led by the director Eric Vigner. The creations made in Lorient go on tour in France and abroad. Programming integrates other forms of live entertainment. From September to June, awareness-raising, training and free visits to the theatre for all cluster applications.

The Scénith offers performances all year round, as well as dramatic expression workshops, and welcomes artists in residence as part of projects conducted in collaboration with schools and Maison de Quartier.

Since 1996, the association MAPL (Musiques Au Pays de Lorient) promotes the current music. At its Merville premises, it continues to host local groups to repeat. The cafeteria is a convivial meeting place where small concerts are given (e. g. electronic music) and where art exhibitions are planned. MAPL also continues its programming work with concerts almost every weekend at the Manège. Some are organised in collaboration with associations of the Country of Lorient and there are really for all tastes (rock, metal, French song, world music, reggae, rap, electro…).

Ideal to spend a good moment, the theater of Lorient proposes you a beautiful programming throughout the year: pure theater, dance, circus, music and many other creations... To buy your tickets, go directly to the theater's ticket office or buy them on the Internet. There are several subscriptions to satisfy everyone. The plus: if you wish to have dinner before the show, the restaurant Le Belvédère located next to the theater opens its doors earlier on the evenings of the show (reservation required).
