A former cinema (1960-2005) recently renovated, the Mac-Orlan, located in the historic Recouvrance district, has an auditorium seating 469 people. Managed by the City of Brest, this venue is open to all artistic disciplines, with dance as its main focus. The venue offers cultural players from Brest and beyond the opportunity to showcase their art: theater, music, cinema and graphic works (with an exhibition room). A partner in a number of major events in Brest, the Mac-Orlan supports, for example, the Cinémathèque de Bretagne meetings, Oups and DansFabrik festivals. The Mac-Orlan is also involved in disseminating the artistic and cultural projects of local residents: for example, at the end of each school year, shows by various classes in the city are presented in excellent conditions.
