Classical opera and dance concert halls Brest

Initiated by the Scène Nationale de Brest team, Le Quartz's artistic activities have confirmed its reputation as a cultural hub for the region, propelling it into the top tier of national stages in France (outside Paris). Located right in the heart of the city, this major arts venue covers an area of 20,000 m² and houses two theaters, one of which seats 1,500, a 400 m² exhibition gallery, and function rooms seating up to 350. Le Quartz's programming is eclectic and multicultural: theatrical performances rub shoulders with dance and circus shows. There are also classical, jazz and world music concerts, as well as major exhibitions. Le Quartz welcomes virtuosos and renowned talents. Please note: Le Quartz has been temporarily closed since the end of 2021 for renovations. The reopening is scheduled for early 2024. In the meantime, its programming is nomadic. A recently renovated cinema (from 1960 to 2005), the Mac-Orlan, located in the historic district of Recouvrance, has a concert room for up to 469 people. Managed by the City of Brest, this place opens up to all artistic disciplines, with a dominant focus: dance. The site offers cultural actors in Brest and elsewhere to disseminate their art: theatre, music, cinema and graphic works (with an exhibition room). A partner of several important events in the brestoise life, the Mac Orlan supports, for example, the meetings of the Cinémathèque of Brittany, festivals Oops, DansFabrik, etc. The Mac-Orlan is also involved in the dissemination of the artistic and cultural projects of the inhabitants: it is under excellent conditions that, at every end of the school year, performances of various classes in the city will be found.
