In 1869, on the initiative of Rector Jean-Jacques Bouget, she rises on a rock pole east of the beach of Coz-Porz. It represents the Good Saviour, a Christ of the most curious. She was intended, according to the Rector, to "help the sailors of the country and foreigners who visit our strikes to raise their thoughts to God". Beneath the rocks is the old chapel of Coz Ilis, now the marine aquarium. Coz-Porz beach is located approximately 5 kilometres west of the town centre of Perros-Guirec, between the Renote Peninsula and the White Strike.

A deux pas du Quartier du Coz Pors et de l île Renote sur un amas de rochers qui a servi de dépôt de munitions puis d'habitation troglodytes.
Ces énormes rochers abritent aujourd'hui l'aquarium marin ou l'on peut voir la faune locale et accéder à la statue.
