Visit to discover a remarkable abbey, steeped in history, on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal.
Bon-Repos Abbey stands majestically on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal. Founded by the powerful de Rohan family in 1184, it was their necropolis until the 16th century. It was home to a community of Cistercian monks until the French Revolution. Sold as national property in 1791, it fell into neglect. Since 1986, an association of volunteers, aided by local authorities and under the expert guidance of the architect of Bâtiments de France, has been working to restore this imposing architectural ensemble. The results are impressive. Digital tablets, equipped with an augmented reality application, take you back to the 18th century, the abbey's golden age: the cloister with its rainwater collection basin, the abbey church, the kitchen and the abbot's rich apartments are all reborn before your very eyes. Explanations also highlight the colossal work carried out over more than 30 years. Now owned by the Département, the abbey also hosts residencies, shows, contemporary art exhibitions and more. In summer, the abbey is the setting for a magical sound and light show, featuring light projections on the abbey walls, pyrotechnic effects and the participation of over 500 volunteer extras. The 2-hour, eight-stage show takes place this year in August. The abbey also offers bed and breakfast accommodation. In summer, a small market featuring local producers is held every Sunday morning.

Qui veut rentre dans l établissement, car tout reste ouvert la nuit. Aucun accueil ni à l arrivé, ni au départ.
L odeur nauséabonde dans l escalier qui mène aux chambres,
Ménage inexistant. Avons retrouver des cheveux dans le lit, des poils pubiens sur les lunettes des toilettes, nourriture sécher sur les meubles, insecte mort dans le lit. Rideau taché. Matelas taché d auréoles jaunes ??? Broyeur des w.c qui se déclenche à longueur de la nuit. Aucun détecteur incendie dans nos chambres. Guirlandes de toiles d araignée qui pendant un peu partout. ......
Déçues, on ne demande pas la lune. Mais seulement de l hygiène et cela serait bien.
