Aquarium for the curious of nature with an original museographic universe from the source to the sea and with fascinating biotopes.
The Aquarium des Curieux de Nature, which is part of the Centre Régional d'Initiation à la Rivière, run by the association Eaux et Rivières de Bretagne, offers you a dive into the fresh waters of the region, and more particularly those of the Léguer. In a faithful reconstitution of the different natural aquatic environments, visitors discover salmonids, eels, pikes and carps... On more than 200 m², no less than ten aquariums welcome more than 200 guests, belonging to about twenty local species. All year round, exhibitions are hung in the open air, all around the elegant building, which is none other than the former castle of Lady Mond. Nature outings, along the rivers of the area, are organized in summer: discovery of medicinal plants, making toys, searching for gold flakes in the Léguer, treasure hunts in the footsteps of the otter, independent treasure hunts, walks to discover dragonflies or amphibians... The river initiation center is also home to a Sports and Nature station, where you can rent mountain bikes for adults or children at low prices, as well as electrically assisted versions, to set off on the assault of some 200 km of freely accessible trails in the vicinity. During the vacations, the resort also organizes many activities: mountain bike or pedestrian excursions, orienteering races for children and families, archery, blowpipe...
