Just outside Auxerre, the Gallo-Roman site of Escolives is an archaeological nugget in the heart of the vineyards. Situated on the ancient Roman road of Agrippa, its origins lie near the Creusot spring, which has attracted mankind since Neolithic times. Period after period has followed, as evidenced by the ruins of a Gallo-Roman villa and thermal baths, and a Merovingian cemetery. A fascinating visit for the whole family, in an absolutely magnificent setting.

La visite est coupée en deux parties : la visite des ruines où l'on nous explique à quoi correspond chaque pièce, puis un musée avec des éléments retrouvés pendant les fouilles, c'était très intéressant !
Le musée est vraiment impressionnant avec les nombreuses pierres sculptées et statues.
