In Rodern, Jean-Luc and Elizabeth Kress-Bleger don't just grow vines (10 hectares): they pamper them on four golden hillsides, from Hochstatten to Silberberg. Here, Gewurz' flirts with Riesling, while Pinot Noir plays the starring role on the Grand Cru Glockelberg. Wooded and aged in barrels, their wines have more character than an after-dinner debate.
