L’ABBAYE DE LA FERTE
One of the most important Cistercian abbeys, a private historic monument of the 18th century, has guest rooms.
Château de La Ferté is the last surviving example of the former abbey of which it was the abbot's palace. A visit to the château is an opportunity to admire the 18th-century interiors, with their abundance of period furniture and carved woodwork. After the French Revolution, the house became the home of the Thénard family of scientists, and is home to a number of scientific objects. It is surrounded by a superb English park, which hosts a renowned rare plant fair in spring. You can also stay here as a bed & breakfast.
