LE CHEMIN DES CARRONS
A not-to-be-missed place to visit for its beautiful buildings and glorious past, highlighted by some 20 panels, ramparts, etc.
For lovers of Bresse architecture and half-timbered houses, visit the charming village of Romenay, where the concentration of remarkable buildings is probably the highest in the whole of Bresse. Through the narrow streets of this sleepy but well-preserved village, the "Chemin des Carrons" (named after the large terracotta bricks typical of the area) reveals beautiful buildings and a glorious past highlighted by some twenty signs: ramparts, "maison penchée", watchtower, washhouse... Allow 30 minutes to an hour for the walk.
