TABLE CAPE LOOKOUT
A 12-million-year-old volcano offering spectacular views of the coast and farmlands of northern Tasmania.
Sitting 180 metres high, "The Cape", as the locals call it, dominates the Wynyard coastline, offering spectacular views over the coast and farmlands of northern Tasmania. Atop the remnants of this 12-million-year-old volcano, an observation platform offers, on a clear day, glimpses of George Town's Low Head and mountain ranges over 175 kilometers away. From the viewpoint, you can reach the Table Cape lighthouse, open in season for tours. Large fields of tulips are in bloom in October.
