An well attributed to Udayamati, wife of King Chaulukya Bhima , with richly carved walls and pillars.
Rani Ki Vav can be translated as "the queen's tiered well". Its construction dates back to the 11th century and is attributed to Udayamati, the wife of King Chaulukya Bhima I. Forgotten underground for centuries, it was rediscovered in 1940 and restored in 1980 by the Indian authorities. Its structure is in the shape of an inverted Hindu temple, with richly sculpted walls and pillars. Many parts of the site are not accessible to visitors. Listed as a World Heritage Site since 2014, it's a must-see for architecture enthusiasts.
