Fortress at the bottom of the Kraljevska Sutjeska canyon, home to the tombs of six rulers, including the last Bosnian king, Stefan Tomašević.
This fortress (Kraljevski Grad Bobovac) stands at the bottom of the canyon of Kraljevska Sutjeska ("valley of kings"). It was the capital of the kingdom of Bosnia in the 14th and 15th centuries. Built during the reign of Stefan II Kotromanić (1322-1353), it housed the graves of six rulers, including the decapitated body of the last Bosnian king, Stefan Tomašević, executed in Jajce by the Ottomans in 1463. One can distinguish the foundations of ramparts, a tower and the mausoleum in which the skeletons of the kings were found. Further down is a restored chapel.
