Vaganska Pećina
Remarkable for its high concentration of stalactites and stalagmites. A 125-m-long tour route (May-October).
This cave (Vaganska Pećina/Ваганска Пећина) lies beneath Mount Vitorog, 920 m above sea level. It's notable for its high concentration of stalactites and stalagmites. And it's home to four species of bat: European barbastelle, Bechstein's murine, emarginated murine and greater rhinolophus. Although it has long served as a shelter for shepherds, it was only explored by scientists in 1999. It is 420 m long, 125 m of which has been open to visitors since 2021. Location: 19 km southeast of Šipovo, road R415, then 600 m path.
