Spomenik Prirode Žuta Bukva
A small forest home to a subspecies of Balkan beech: the yellow beech(Fagus moesiaca aurea serbica), found nowhere else.
This small 0.5 ha forest (Žuta Bukva/Жута Буква) has been classified as a "natural monument" since 2012. Located between the villages of Zaselje/Засеље and Hadrovci/Хадровци (9 km west of Kotor Varoš), it is home to a subspecies of the Balkan beech: the yellow beech(Fagus moesiaca aurea serbica) or žuta bukva in Krajina dialect. Identified in 2006 and nowhere else to be found, it is distinguished by its golden leaves which, in summer, add a unique touch to the Kotlovac valley. Right next door, the Žuta Bukva restaurant serves delicious baked lamb.
