Stričići/Стричићи (pronounced "stritchichi") has about 200 inhabitants, all Bosnian-Serbs, and is part of the municipality of Banja Luka. The village is 36 km southwest of Banja Luka (2 buses/day).The birthplace of the great Banja Luka poet Petar Kočić (1877-1916), Stričići is in the form of several scattered hamlets at 700 m above sea level with a nice little modern church on a hill, a restaurant on the side of the R411 road, and the Petar-Kočić school. The village also preserves the poet's wooden birthplace, marked with the sign Кочићево огњиште ("Kočić's home") and adorned with a statue.
