Mary River National Park is located on the Arnhem Highway to Kakadu, 150 km east of Darwin. The park itself is rarely visited, mainly by 4x4 and fishing enthusiasts. There are, however, some great walks to be had. To the north of the park is the exclusive Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge, not easily accessible, but set in a unique environment. Most tourists stop for a night en route to Kakadu, either at the Corroborree Park Tavern, a typically Australian pub with 80s Australian rock singers and often lots of beer, or at the peaceful Mary River Wilderness Retreat surrounded by nature.
