Berry Springs is a rural community 60 km south of Darwin. The two main attractions are side by side and well worth an expedition: Territory Wildlife Park and Berry Springs Nature Park. The Nature Park is one of Darwin's favorite weekend swimming spots; try to visit during the week. Dug by soldiers stationed there during the Second World War, the translucent pool amidst tropical vegetation is a paradise. Birdwatchers will be delighted. You'll also find arching fish that rise out of the water to throw a trickle of water at their prey.
