Røldal is known for receiving more snowfall than any other region in Norway. It's also one of the country's best freeride ski resorts, and a paradise for cross-country skiers. Situated to the west of the Langfjella mountains and at the foot of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, Røldal is an ideal starting point for countless hikes and bike rides in unspoilt nature. You can visit one of the last 28 standing wooden churches. Built in the 13th century, it is one of the oldest in the country. The church is located in the middle of the village and is one of Røldal's main attractions.
