Campins cement plant in the west of the Costa dels Prats hill producing more than 30 tons of natural cement per day

To the west of the Costa dels Prats hill, the village preserves a series of old cement kilns. In the 19th century one of the first cement factories in Spain was built in Campins: it produced more than 30 tonnes of natural cement per day! The complex consisted of two houses, where the workers were housed, a quarry and a dozen kilns where natural cement was produced. In 1928, the company was transferred to Barcelona. The cement factory in Campins closed down.
