On the road to Sorobango north-east of Bondoukou is the village of Kanguélé, inhabited by Koulangos and Abrons. Distinctive sign: its Abron weavers, who for generations have perpetuated there an art now threatened by the proximity of Ghana, an important producer of woven loincloths. The traditional abron loincloths, mainly used for special occasions (celebrations of joy or mourning), are distinguished from baoulé loincloths by an assembly of thinner and narrower strips and the use of more limited colours, variations of blue and white enhanced with a few shades of bright colours.
