Travel Guide Latali

About ten kilometres before Mestia, we arrive at the first large group of villages with defensive towers. This is the community of Latali, which contains several villages. With ancient towers and several churches, it is one of the most interesting sites in Svanetia. In Ienachi there are several medieval chapels near the road. All the churches are indicated from the road by blue signs. Shortly before Mestia, the community of Lendjeri, below the road, is also picturesque, and has a beautiful medieval church (in Lachtkhveri). From Latali, you can reach Mazeri in 3 hours during a superb hike.
