Travel Guide Citta Della Pieve

This small town overlooking Lake Trasimeno is located on the border between Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio. A visit to Città della Pieve (43 km from Perugia) allows you to appreciate the surrounding nature. An Etruscan-Roman town, it fell under the domination of Perugia in 1188, and then in the following centuries under that of the Papal States to be transformed into an important administrative and religious centre. The city remained under the domination of the Church (with the exception of the Napoleonic years) until the Italian unification in 1860.
