A little-known corner of Evia that's well worth a visit. If you haven't taken the boat from Rafina, you'll reach Marmari via a series of villages, some of which are perched on hillsides overlooking the Aegean Sea, hidden among the thick foliage of plane and holm oak trees. The road then bends along the coast towards the Aegean Sea. This small port, with a lively center in summer, is bordered by some fifteen sandy beaches with clear turquoise waters and quiet coves. By boat, you can also visit the small island of Petalion opposite Marmari. Nearby, discover Lake Dystos, a remarkable biodiversity sanctuary.
