Just 10 km from its famous big sister Boracay, Carabao Island is the complete opposite. Far from the tourist crowds, shopping malls and nightlife, it's a dazzling little rural paradise still little known to tourists. Known as Hambil to the locals, the island has preserved its natural beauty, pristine beaches and rhythm of life. With 11,000 inhabitants, 9 schools, over 25 churches, virtually no cars and a small capital, San Jose, you can immerse yourself respectfully in the lives of the welcoming local communities. Often visited as a day trip from Boracay, the island is well worth a longer stay: calm, relaxation and nature are the order of the day. Our advice: spend a few days there after your stay in Boracay to see another side of the Visayas.
