In the forests of the Vosges, the schlitteur is the one who drives the schlitte, a large sled that was used in the past to transport wood. In the Valley of Munster, the Petit Schlitteur is THE place to go for a snack on the way to the ski slopes and hiking trails. Created by Nicolas Kaestle, this shop offers delicious home-made bakery products (breads, pastries, seasonal pies...), but also copious daily dishes, pizzas and excellent sandwiches. And Au Petit Schlitteur is also a tea room!

Trés magnifique! Adorable bakery with a large assortment of fresh baked breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and sandwiches. You can also buy local cheeses and meats from an open cooler. They also had proper dishes for lunch and dinner but we didn't try them (yet). Commercial French teas also available (they were very high quality though, so do have some tea with your pastries). Service is in French only, and very friendly and patient, so be prepared to give your best try at what Duolingo has taught you! ???????? ????????
