At the gates of Shekhawati, located near the highway from Delhi to Jaipur, Patan has its fort and palace ... in ruins. A second palace dating from the nineteenth century has been transformed into a hotel in 2010 after a long renovation. The result is amazing. The vast ochre-colored residence stands in the middle of a beautiful landscaped garden at the foot of the Aravalli hills. The rooms are large, airy, bright and furnished with antiques. Meals are served in the beautiful and ornate dining room. The palace also has a swimming pool.
