Former factory with two large chimneys, a testimony to the Ceramic Valley in Ciry-le-Noble.
It's impossible not to see this former factory, with its two large chimneys rising into the sky. The brickyard, formerly the Vairet-Baudot factory, was built alongside the Canal du Centre in 1863. Thanks to the region's clay-rich soils, it was able to develop the manufacture of particularly sturdy bricks and paving slabs, used in particular by the chemical industry. In operation until 1966, it is now a branch of the Ecomusée Le Creusot-Montceau. A testament to the Ceramic Valley, tours are offered in summer.

Par contre vraiment dommage que l'accès au four soit pas visitable, c'est tellement dommage car nous ne voyons pas les étapes de la fabrication des briques dans son intégralité et je trouve l'étape séchage très importante.

Tout un patrimoine et un savoir-faire hélas disparu remis en valeur, bravo à tous ceux qui ont contribuer à redonner vie à ce site. Il y a encore beaucoup à faire pour que la totalité du site soit remise en état, ne baissez pas les bras!
