SANT PERE I SANT JAUME DE VALLHONESTA
In the Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac. Vallhonesta is a small town administratively linked to Sant Vincenç de Castellet with interesting ruined buildings nestled in the heart of nature. First of all, the remains of the Romanesque chapel of Sant Pere de Vallhonesta, built in the 12th century on the site of an earlier building (the apse and the beginning of the nave, the oldest elements, date from the 11th century), of which the bell tower remains. Following the SL-C61 route from the beginning of the Vallhonesta forest track (Camí de Vallhonesta, km 1.5), you can reach the Sant Jaume de Vallhonesta site by the Route des Maquis (5.9 km, medium difficulty, 2 hours). Here you can see the ruins of an old hostal on the royal road that linked Barcelona to Manresa and a restored chapel of Romanesque origin dedicated to Sant Jaume (guided tour every third Sunday of the month). It will be above all a pretext to walk around the natural park.
Access. From the town hall of Sant Vicenç de Castellet, the SL-C53 route, passing through one of the gates of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac, allows you to reach the Sant Pere de Vallhonesta site on foot (6.8 km, medium difficulty, 2 hours). On the way, pretty groves, dry stone buildings, old quarries and views of the Pyrenees. Not very popular. The route can be combined with the SL-C61.
