The community of Batoche is located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon and one hour south of Prince Albert. Batoche was the site of one of the most important battles of the Northwest Rebellion in 1885. Although the church and rectory are the only remaining structures, Batoche is now an interesting national historic site to explore and tour. You will learn about the struggles of the Métis and Aboriginal rebels, as well as the way of life of the Métis community. The site offers a canoe ride on the tranquil waters of the South Saskatchewan River.
