This park, unknown, of 45 000 ha is the best place to observe the phenomenon of the flowering desert, between August and September, when the climatic conditions are adequate. Created with the aim of protecting the vegetal formation of the coastal desert of Huasco, it has very beautiful wild beaches and a 2,5 km long path. The flora consists of more than 220 different species, 14 of which are endemic and only found in the Atacama region. As for the fauna, we can admire the guanacos, the largest wild mammal in Chile, capable of surviving in extreme climatic conditions such as those found in this semi-desert area.
