South of Whitefish and north of Missoula, Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater point in the west of Mississippi in terms of area. It extends from the north of Kallispell to Polson, a small town located on the Flathead Indian Reserve. Its translucent waters, taking striking colors, are renowned for fishing and water sports. It is also an ideal location for hiking or camping. Plan to join the small island of Wild Horse, a small state park where you can observe local wildlife including five wild horses. The city of Polla also reserves some attractions like a casino and a colorful antiques museum.
