SRI NAGUESH MAHARUDRA TEMPLE
Temple north of Ponda, in the village of Bandode, dedicated to Lord Naguesh, another form of the god Shiva
North of Ponda, in the village of Bandode, lies the temple of Lord Naguesh. On a stone plaque near the temple, we read that in 1413, a family bequeathed their land for the construction of a temple. It was thus during the reign of Veer Pratap Devraya of the Vijayanaga kingdom that this temple was erected, and unlike many others, it has never left its original location. Dedicated to Lord Naguesh, another form of the god Shiva.
