Located about 55 kilometers north of San Diego, Carlsbad is mainly known for hosting the extraordinary Legoland California theme park, opened in 1999 by the toy manufacturer, near North Ponto Beach. It is also a cute little beach city, with 11.2 km of beaches - some of which are still relatively wild.Moreover, note that the animation is concentrated around Carlsbad Village, near the ocean.All in all, the town is not worth the detour, but it can be a quick stopover during a day spent in the Lego universe, before going to San Diego.
