Mine museum presenting the living conditions of miners and the evolution of mining techniques.
Immerse yourself in the history of the Gueules noires with this museum, where you can learn about miners' working conditions and the principle of coal extraction, via 200 meters of equipped galleries. The equipment is still in excellent condition, notably the cage that can still be moved in the shaft tube dug in 1857 and preserved at depths of up to 30 meters. Accompanied by a guide, some of whom are former miners, the two-hour immersion is a fascinating experience. On Wednesdays during the summer vacations, the fun and lively tour is rounded off by a series of "do-it-yourself" workshops.
