After Punta Patiño, the lancha continues on its way over a sometimes rough sea to reach Sambú. This Afro-descendant village offers a base to visit the indigenous communities located further upstream. You will be amazed at the sight of fishermen on their small trawlers and the pelicans that roam around. Puerto Indio, on the other side of the Rio Sábalo, is an Emberá-Wounaan village with typical stilt houses.
