CAPE-SPEAR LIGHTHOUSE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

It is the oldest lighthouse in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, overlooking the ocean where icebergs, humpback whales and groups of porpoises pass by. Now restored, you'll learn about the daily life of a lighthouse keeper's family in the 19th century, as well as the maritime history of the region. On Cape Spear, you can explore the remains of the fort, a World War II coastal defence battery.
